Yesterday, Refresh Kits had the incredible opportunity to run two inspiring workshops at the Riverside Centre in partnership with Timeout Youth Project and The Javan Coker Foundation. With the generous support of The Mayor’s Fund for London, we engaged with a group of young girls to discuss the importance of hygiene, self-care, and confidence.
Why Hygiene Education Matters
Hygiene isn’t just about staying clean—it’s about dignity, health, and empowerment. Many young people face barriers to accessing essential hygiene products, which can impact their confidence, school attendance, and overall well-being. That’s why Refresh Kits is committed to providing hygiene kits and education to young people across London, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to take care of themselves.
What Happened at the Workshop?
The session was interactive and engaging, allowing the girls to openly discuss hygiene challenges, learn self-care routines, and break the stigma around periods and personal hygiene. Each participant received a Refresh Kit, packed with essential products to support their daily hygiene needs.
Through games, discussions, and hands-on activities, the young girls not only learned about hygiene but also became ambassadors of change—encouraged to share their knowledge with friends and family.
